Palisade Wedding at Orchard River View in Colorado

I first met Sonja at the Hitched in CO GJ Bridal Experience expo last fall. In a sea of people, Sonja emerged from the crowd and came up to my booth with a huge friendly smile on her face. You meet a lot of people at a bridal fair, but there are a few that make an impression - Sonja was definitely one of them! I was so excited to get the inquiry from her after the expo!

When I met up with Nevin & Sonja on the Colorado National Monument to photograph their engagement session this past January, their love and commitment to each other was so evident - they were so much fun! See more images from their engagement session here.

Their wedding was nothing short of gorgeous at the relatively newer venue in Palisade, Orchard River View. From the beautiful barn, to the breathtaking views near the Colorado River and the nearby peach orchards, it was so nice to get back in the swing of weddings during this crazy year. I’m excited to share a bigger glimpse of their wedding day below.

Here is a little bit more about the bride and groom, from Sonja:

“Nevin and I are high school sweethearts. We grew up together in Bayfield CO and became great friends in high school marching band. We began dating my sophomore year and his junior year of high school. After high school, we began at CMU in the marching band and our love and friendship for each other grew stronger and stronger everyday. We dated for almost 8 years before finally getting engaged in September of 2019. Nevin was on a work trip in Crested Butte, CO and I went up there to visit him for the weekend. After helping him pull communication cables for the Silver Queen lift, we decided to take a hike up Mt. Crested Butte. A storm had passed right by us and by the time we got to the top, we were all alone and the sun was peeking through the clouds and shining right over town. Nevin got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. We were so emotional and it was absolutely perfect. I am so happy and excited to share the rest of my life with him. He truly is my best friend and life partner.”
